An intimate evening of seasonal plant-based food, local wines, and good company in the Charente countryside, followed by an overnight stay and homemade brunch the next morning.
Longer days, later dinners
Late May is when life at La Cour de Husson really starts moving outside again. The garden is full, the evenings stretch out, the pool is open and dinner can begin while there’s still plenty of light over the fields.
It’s also a brilliant time of year to cook.
Spring produce is in full swing and the first hints of summer are starting to appear, which gives us plenty to play with when we start putting the menu together.
On Saturday 22 May, ten guests will join us for our second Seasonal Table of 2027. Come early and spend the afternoon at La Cour de Husson. Swim, read in the garden, find a hammock or do very little at all.
As the afternoon begins to turn into evening, we’ll gather for cocktails and canapés before taking our seats around one long table for a completely new seasonal plant-based menu and local wines.
Then stay the night and join us again for brunch the following morning.
Your stay
An afternoon at La Cour de Husson
Check in from 2 pm and the afternoon is yours.
The pool will be open, the hammocks will be out, and there’s plenty of room around the gardens to find a quiet spot. Bring a book. Bring your swimming things. Challenge someone to ping pong. Or do absolutely nothing.
Apéro
At 7 pm, we’ll meet for cocktails and homemade canapés.
By late May, we’re hoping to be outside, making the most of the evening light before dinner. Grab a drink, find a seat, and meet the other people you’ll be sharing the table with.
Dinner
At 8 pm, we’ll sit down together. If the weather allows, that means one long table outside beneath the old walnut tree.
The menu will be completely plant-based and created specifically for this evening, inspired by the produce of late spring. We’ll pour the wine, bring out the food, and let dinner take as long as dinner takes.
There are only ten guests, so this isn’t restaurant dining. It’s closer to being invited to a very good dinner party where you don’t know everyone yet.
Stay the night
Eventually we’ll call it a night. Fortunately, your bed is only a few steps away.
You’ll stay in one of the five bedrooms across our two renovated gîtes at La Cour de Husson.
Sunday brunch
The next morning, we’ll make brunch.
Expect plenty of coffee alongside a mixture of homemade sweet and savoury dishes, pastries, fruit and whatever else we’ve decided the morning needs. Think warm freshly baked pastries fresh out of the oven, homemade granola, fresh fruit, and warming mushrooms on toast or spiced masala beans.
There’s no rush to disappear immediately afterwards. Enjoy the last bit of your stay before heading home.
Check-out is at 11.30 am.

The May menu
We’ll reveal it closer to the evening.
The menu for every Seasonal Table starts with what’s in season rather than a list of dishes decided months beforehand.
By late May, spring is in full swing, and summer isn’t far behind. We might find ourselves cooking with peas, broad beans, asparagus, new potatoes, fresh herbs, strawberries and whatever else looks particularly good when we visit the market. But we’re deliberately not promising any of those things just yet.
The final menu will be decided closer to 22 May, when we know what’s actually at its best. Everything will be plant-based and made by us here at La Cour de Husson.
Just ten places
We keep The Seasonal Table intentionally small.
Five bedrooms means a maximum of ten guests and, at dinner, everyone sits together around one table.
You can come with a partner or a friend. You don’t need to arrive knowing anyone else.
And you definitely don’t need to be vegan.

You’ll stay in one of five bedrooms across our two renovated gîtes at La Cour de Husson. All the rooms are spacious and the kitchen is fully stocked with tea and coffee if you fancy an early morning pick me up.

The Seasonal Table is our intimate plant-based dining experience here at La Cour de Husson, held on a handful of dates throughout spring, early summer, and autumn.
Every table has a completely different menu, created around the season in which it takes place.

How do I get there?
Our address is: La Cour de Husson, 5 Route de Husson, 16140 Charmé, France
Travel to and from the event is not included, and is the responsibility of the guest.
If you are travelling from further afield, you can fly into the following airports:
Poitiers – 50 minute drive
Limoges – 1 hour 20 minute drive
La Rochelle – 1 hour 45 minute drive
Bordeaux – 2 hours drive
If you are travelling by train, our local station is Luxé and large main station is Angoulême (there are direct trains to Paris & Bordeaux from here).
Cancellations & transfers
Due to the nature of The Seasonal Table, all bookings are final and non-refundable.
If you’re no longer able to join us, you’re welcome to transfer your booking to someone else. Just let us know their name and details at least 24 hours before the event, or ask them to give us your name when they arrive.
Any arrangements regarding payment between the original booker and the person taking their place are the responsibility of the original purchaser.
In the unlikely event that we need to postpone an evening due to circumstances beyond our control, your booking will automatically be transferred to the new date.
Is everything vegan?
Yes. Everything we serve during The Seasonal Table is plant-based and vegan, including dinner, canapés, brunch, and drinks.
Do I need to be vegan?
Absolutely not.
We don’t cook “vegan food” with the expectation that everyone around the table follows a vegan diet. We cook food we love using plants.
Come because the menu sounds good, the setting looks beautiful or you fancy doing something a little different for the weekend.
Why don't you publish the menu when bookings open?
Because May hasn’t happened yet.
The menu will be built around what’s genuinely in season and looking its best locally as we approach the event.
We’ll publish it here closer to the date.
Can you accommodate allergies?
Tell us when you book and we’ll accommodate allergies and dietary requirements wherever we reasonably can.
If your requirements are particularly complex, contact us before booking and we’ll talk them through with you.
Are drinks included?
Yes. Your welcome cocktail plus a selection of wines and other drinks during dinner are included in the price.
How are the rooms allocated?
Rooms are available on a two-person sharing basis, so each booking is for two guests sharing a room. If you’re coming on your own, please get in touch, and we’ll be happy to discuss the options with you.
Can I book dinner without staying overnight?
No. The Seasonal Table is offered as a dining-and-stay experience, so your room at La Cour de Husson forms part of the booking.
The upside is that everyone can enjoy the evening (and the wine) without having to worry about driving home afterwards.
Can I come on my own?
Our rooms and pricing are primarily based on two people sharing.
If you’d like to come alone, please get in touch before booking and we’ll let you know what options are available.
Who will be joining us?
The Seasonal Table is for people who enjoy good food, good conversation, and meeting new people.
You’ll be sharing the table with a small group of like-minded guests who are curious, sociable, and have a healthy appetite for delicious food and a good evening.
Some may come as friends, some as couples, and some may arrive not knowing anyone else at the table. That’s part of the fun.
It’s the kind of evening where, by the end of it, nobody feels like a stranger.
