As you know we officially got married back in London in 2021 just before we moved to France. As it was still during weird covid times we only had four guests at the wedding! We promised everyone that we would have a French wedding party when we were all renovated and settled in, et voila. Well, actually, we haven’t finished renovating, but we’re over half way and thought it would be wonderful to have all our favourite people in one place to celebrate. What a great excuse for a party in the sun.
The wedding will be held here at La Cour de Husson and will be very chilled with the emphasis on all our favourite people being together with great food, delicious drinks (many margaritas), and dancing.

The Plan
The Day Before
We will be holding a drinks and pizza evening for all our guests from home that are arriving on Friday the 26th in our courtyard, starting from 6pm. We will arrange for transport back to the local hotels/b&bs/gîtes at around 11pm.
The Day Of
The wedding ceremony will be held in our garden, with the wedding breakfast hosted in a new wedding tent, followed by a party in the gardens and open barn. We will again arrange transport to/from the wedding, so no one needs to be Des!
2pm – Guests arrive, welcome drinks
3pm – Wedding ceremony
3.30pm – Pop some fizz
4pm – Wedding breakfast, served family-style
5pm – Speeches – Nothing too traditional, if anyone would like to say a few words we’d love that, please just let us know.
6pm – Party!
8pm – Snacks, dancing
11pm-12pm – Transport back to b&bs etc.
The Day After
If anyone is planning on staying an extra day, please just let us know. We’ll be doing a casual BBQ/pool day on Sunday.
Need to know
Wedding Guests
As much as we dearly love all your children the weekend will be just for adults as we want to keep it to a small gathering, and there are now a lot of children in our friends and family circle! We hope you can understand. It does, however, give all the parents a great excuse for a relaxing weekend away…
That said, we do completely understand if some people can’t make it if you can’t arrange childcare etc, and we won’t be offended, we promise, although you will be missed!
Getting here
Once you arrive by plane/train into the most convenient airport/station for you it’s best to hire a car as there is no public transport in our very rural area. However, we imagine that a lot of you will be on the same flights, so perhaps join up with some of the other guests and share a car hire where possible.
Planes
The 4 closest airports to La Cour de Husson are:
Poitiers – 50 minute drive
Limoges – 1 hour 20 minute drive
La Rochelle – 1 hour 45 minute drive
Bordeaux – 1 hour 50 minute drive
Each of these runs flights with Ryanair or Easyjet to various UK airports and you can hire cars at this end easily.
Trains
If you’re travelling by Eurostar, there are great train services from Paris to nearby Angoulême (35 minute drive from us), where you can then rent a car from.
If you’re arriving into Bordeaux airport you can get a tram into Bordeaux centre and then get a direct train to Angoulême from there.
Paris > Angoulême – 1 hour 45 minutes
Bordeaux > Angoulême – 35 minutes
Automobiles
La Cour de Husson is situated a short distance to the N10 motorway which acts as one of the main routes down through France.
There is an EV charging point in our village (Charmé).
Accomodations
There are lots of cute b&bs and cottages (gîtes) in the surrounding villages for you to stay at. They are all very reasonably priced from around €60 per night. We have listed a lot below and we would advise booking sooner rather than later to guarantee getting into a local place as we will be arranging transport to/from the wedding from these local villages.
You could also stay a bit further afield where there is a wider choice of accommodation, for example Angoulême, our closest city, but in this case you would need to drive to/from the wedding.
If booking the local places – Maison Dix, Rose de Charmé, Le Grenier, please mention you are a part of our wedding party as we’ve asked them to hold the rooms for our guests.

Are kids welcome?
On this occasion it will be adults only. As much as we dearly love all your children the weekend will be just for adults as we want to keep it to a small gathering, and there are now a lot of wonderful children in our friends and family circle! We hope you understand.
What should I wear?
Normal wedding attire. Smarter than jeans but no need for a top hat! Remember to pack your sunglasses & sun cream (as a lot of the day will be outside, hopefully…).
How should I get to and from the wedding?
We will be organising transport to and from your accommodation. Please let us know where you are staying once you have booked.
